How a Fortune Cookie Helped Kickstart My Personal Finance Writing
And a brief review of the Chase Sapphire Reserve
Yesterday I ordered Chinese takeout for lunch, and I paid for it with a Doordash credit that I had on my Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card.
I got the house, Lo Mein, with shrimp and chicken with an egg roll on the side. Everything hit the spot — the sauce was savory-sweet, the egg roll had a delightful crunch, and it satisfied my immediate desire for easy comfort food. Plus the portions were very generous which is always welcome.
And then I opened the fortune cookie (I usually don’t I just give it away because I don’t like the taste). My ‘fortune’/word of wisdom was:
“You begin to appreciate how important it is to share your personal beliefs.”
This struck a chord with me because I am endeavoring to improve my writing skills so that I can share my convictions about the importance of personal finance. Plus it is a fantastic cliche to write about my fortune cookie experience, so you had better believe I am capitalizing on that glorious opportunity.
