My Journey Leaping from Finance into Entrepreneurship
After graduating college in 2018, I dove into the corporate world, landing a job at the prestigious private equity firm Greystar. I gained invaluable experience in investment accounting and honed vital business skills during my two years at Greystar and a subsequent role at a related firm, Conrex.
However, I ultimately realized that the traditional corporate path wasn’t the right fit for me. An innate drive to create and innovate pushed me to take the leap into entrepreneurship in 2020 despite some fears and uncertainties.
Today, I’ll share my journey making that daunting transition from the sturdy corporate ladder towards the thrilling but unpredictable terrain of startups. For any readers contemplating a similar move, I’ll offer practical advice and hard-won lessons that helped me navigate this career pivot.
